This month the Meister Bar launches a new cocktail menu inspired by the greatest icons of fashion and art. The menu entitled ‘The Icons’ pairs 12 new cocktails with celebrated names from the catwalk, art exhibitions to perfumeries. Famous faces and brands featured include fashion powerhouses Coco Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld and Alexander McQueen to legends of the art world including Jackson Pollock, Derek Gores and Mark Rothko.
‘Pollock No. 32’ sees the bar team celebrate the unmistakable style and skill of artist Jackson Pollock; presented in a chocolate spattered glass is a chocolate gateau-washed Woodford Reserve; liquid dessert.
Paying homage to one of fashion’s most notable designers, extraordinaire Coco Chanel, is a tropical medley of flavours combined with Perrier-Jouët Champagne; Coco Chanel’s favourite. The ‘Champagne for Coco’ cocktail is sweet with a bite, just like Coco herself.
Fashion leads us to fragrance, as it did with Yves Saint Laurent. ‘Black Opium’ takes inspiration from the French designer’s love of café gourmand and offers a mix of coffee and sherry flavours with a small bite of a chocolate tartlet and sweet vermouth. Mirroring the much-loved fragrance bottle, this cocktail is beautifully scented and enveloped in a plume of smoke.
Complimenting the award-winning interiors of German Gymnasium, The Meister Bar’s new ‘Icons’ menu celebrates art in all forms as well as showcasing the talent and imagination of its bartenders, establishing the bar as a leader in London’s cocktail bar scene.
